Lauren George

Lauren brings over 12 years of public relations and land use experience in New York. As Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission under the de Blasio administration, she worked closely with City Hall, elected officials at all levels and community groups to balance preservation and development. Lauren directed legislative affairs and public relations for Common Cause NY, a statewide nonprofit, advocating with the Governor’s office, Assembly and Senate around voting and election reforms and money in politics. She served as chief of staff to a Brooklyn-Queens City Council Member, where she directed the budget, legislative and policy agenda, and negotiated key initiatives such as Domestic Violence and Immigrant Services. Lauren lives in Brooklyn with her husband and toddler twins. Bilingual Spanish-English, she has a Master of Urban Planning from Hunter-CUNY and a BA from Macalester College.
